Hi!

My name is Marina and for as long as I remember I have had a great passion for drawing!

I was born in Naples, Italy, where I started my art studies at the age of 19 at 'Scuola Italiana di Comix', studying the basics of drawing and 2D Animation (both classical and digital). However, I continued my art studies in Dublin both in a self-taught capacity and through professional training courses. In 2019, I completed a 2D and 3D animation certificate at Pulse College.

I am now based in Helsinki (Finland) working as a designer at the animation studio Gigglebug. My focus as a designer is on Background Art, but I love drawing characters and props too! I am, in fact, very fascinated by any aspect of design for entertainment.

Since July 2021 I am a Colour Artist at the Disney Dutch Magazine ‘Donald Duck’ and occasionally I help out with drawing corrections on the Disney comic-strip panels.

Last but not least, I am a committed sketcher from life (just cannot leave my sketchbook at home when I go out!) and pretty addicted to figure-drawing. Drawing from a model makes sure that my skills stay sharp and I can see them improving day by day!

When I am not drawing, you can find me cooking and cycling, and somehow squeezing in some social life too :)

Marina
